He&#8217;s also appeared in <em>Hamlet<\/em> as Guildenstern and as Balthazar in our <em>Comedy of Errors<\/em> with Janus Theatre in Elgin<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Q<\/strong>: What first turned you on to Shakespeare?<br \/>\n<strong>KEVIN<\/strong>: In 2013, I saw the Q Brother&#8217;s production of <i>Othello: The Remix<\/i>, which is a four-man show of Othello, told entirely through hip-hop (<i>similar to\u00a0<\/i>Hamilton<i>, though O:TR came first<\/i>.) \u00a0I wasn&#8217;t into Shakespeare or rap before seeing that show, and afterward, I was a fan of both.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q<\/strong>: How has your approach to Unrehearsed altered during your first year? (or is it too early to say?)<br \/>\n<strong>KEVIN<\/strong>: I don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s altered that much, but I&#8217;ve worked on cutting down on and specifying gestures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q<\/strong>:\u00a0What, to you, is the most intriguing thing about King Lear?<br \/>\n<strong>KEVIN<\/strong>: It seems with most tragedies, the main character is introduced as a pretty decent guy (<i>even Macbeth starts as a hero<\/i>).\u00a0 Lear enters in the first scene, immediately banishes the only two people who are honest with him, and then has to get the audience on his side from there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q<\/strong>: If Lear asked you to flatter him, would you answer more like Cordelia or more like Goneril and Regan?<br \/>\n<strong>KEVIN<\/strong>: I&#8217;d probably plan on being honest, and then as soon as he asks I&#8217;d panic and say he&#8217;s the best thing ever.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q<\/strong>: What&#8217;s your favorite Unrehearsed role to date?<br \/>\n<strong>KEVIN<\/strong>: Sylvius.\u00a0 Getting to lead the infamous (<i>at least among Unrehearsers<\/i>) &#8220;What &#8217;tis to love&#8221; scene was an honor.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1914\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1914\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1914 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.unrehearsedchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/guard-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"guard\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.unrehearsedchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/guard-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.unrehearsedchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/guard-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.unrehearsedchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/guard-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.unrehearsedchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/guard.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1914\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kevin retires the guard in the opening scene of Hamlet, 2016.
